What is a diverse supplier?
A diverse supplier in manufacturing is a business that is at least 51% owned and operated by a person or team formally associated with a traditionally underrepresented or underserved section of the population. Common diverse supplier classifications are small-business enterprises (SBEs), minority-owned enterprises (MBEs), and woman-owned enterprises (WBEs) and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The diverse supplier definition is often expanded to businesses owned by other minority groups such as LGBTQ, proprietors with disabilities, and more.
